Pico de Gallo

There’s nothing like a batch of fresh and vibrant Pico de Gallo that bursts with so much texture and flavors. It’s the perfect condiment to brighten up and cut through the unctuousness of all Mexican food dishes.

I’m in love with the juiciness of the tomatoes, crispness of the white onions, herbaceousness of the cilantro and spiciness of the jalapenos. It’s pretty addicting and quite healthy..except for when you lose self-control and eat it with hella chips.

I’m guilty of just buying pre-made Pico de Gallo at the store for convenience, but there’s nothing like finely dicing up all the fresh veggies and preparing it at home and controlling the ingredients you put into it.

What’s your favorite food to enjoy with Pico de Gallo?

Pico de Gallo Ingredients:
3 Roma tomatoes diced
1/4 White onion diced
1 Jalapeno, diced
1 handful cilantro, chopped
1 lime, juiced
1-2 teaspoon(s) Hot Sauce
Salt, to taste.

Steps:

Make Pico de Gallo – Add all the ingredients to a medium bowl. Mix all the ingredients and season with salt to taste.

Tips:

  • If you like your Pico de Gallo spicier, use Serrano Peppers.
  • If using other tomatoes, just chop the flesh and remove the seeds and juices.
  • Try to use firm tomatoes and avoid soft tomatoes.
