
Galbi, Korean Style Beef Short Ribs, is one of the girls’ favorite Korean dishes, and a dish that they often order when we eat at Korean restaurants. They love the savory and sweet taste, meaty and tender texture, and the chewy delicious texture around the bone of the beef short ribs. It also smells incredible! This is a classic Korean dish that is super easy to prepare and a must-make for all Korean food lovers.
Ingredients:
2 pounds Korean-style beef short ribs
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons Mirin
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 yellow onion
1/2 Asian pear
8 garlic cloves
1 cup of water
Extra sliced onions and green onions for plating
Steps:
Make Marinade – Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, mirin, and black pepper. Blend Asian pear, yellow onion, garlic cloves in 1 cup of water. Mix it into the soy sauce mix.
Marinade Beef Short Ribs – Pour marinade over beef short ribs. Marinade for at least 8 hours in the fridge, preferably overnight.
Sear Beef Short Ribs – Pat dry beef short ribs. Sear over medium-high heat for 4 minutes a side or until a beautiful crust forms.
Tips:
- You can use this marinade on thinly sliced beef and chicken as well.
- Best enjoyed with steamed rice, Kimchi, and lettuce!
- These can be grilled over medium-high direct heat or broiled in the oven.
